Instructions for completing Iosco County Road Commission Move Permit Applications

  1. You must first Accept/Decline the Rules and Regulations of the permit application. If you decline, you will not be allowed to continue with the permit application process.
  2. Complete all sections of the permit application in detail including axle weights (writing in “legal weight” will not be accepted).
  3. Submit the application via email or print and mail it to the Iosco County Road Commission with the permit fee listed on the application and a certificate of general liability insurance naming the road commission as additionally insured. (Click on the link for details of the insurance requirements). A fax copy of the application and copy of the check may be accepted in certain cases. Call the road commission and speak to the assistant permit agent to discuss faxing your application and check copy.
  4. A 48 hour notice must be given to provide the road commission permit agent adequate time to review the proposed route. Permit applications requesting same day or next day moves will not be given special treatment (unless a valid emergency exists and the 48 hour requirement cannot be met).
  5. The move cannot begin until the road commission has approved the permit.
  6. When all of these requirements have been submitted the road commission will review the proposed route and issue the permit.
